Was that a hockey game or boxing match?

Last night the Penguins fell to the NY Islanders 9-3, in a fight filled physical hockey game that featured WAY to many fights and penalties. I am a huge hockey fan and enjoy a good hockey fight every once and a while but last night's game was a little out of hand.  There is no reason they should've been fighting so much.  To me the players to put much on the line (including their health) when they become physical. I would much rather see a well played game of hockey with little penalties then a game full of fights.
Tell what you think: would you rather see a close hockey game with little penalties or one full of fights?

  1. The only "fan" that would claim to see more fights should never be allowed to watch any hockey game of any kind. Fighting was implemented in the sport to allow players to protect teammates or relieve tension between the teams. It should always be a secondary aspect of the sport. Banning fighting is pointless as it would lead to more severe injuries, mainly due to players trying to cause harm, but much stricter penalties should be set upon goons or headhunters who really only disgrace the sport. Ultimately and unfortunately these players become the face of hockey, permanently giving this great sport a bad name.
